RCMP seeking public’s help identifying individual in connection with suspicious occurrence

The Richibucto RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify an individual in connection with a suspicious occurrence in Napan, N.B.
On September 6, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP detachment responded to a report of a suspicious occurrence involving a child on Point-Aux-Carr Road in Napan. An individual approached a child and asked for the child to help them with something. The child refused, and the individual left before police arrived.
Police are now seeking the public's help to identify the individual involved, who is described as a man with darker complexion, black hair and a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans. He was travelling in a black GMC pickup truck.
“We want to remind parents and guardians to speak with their children about the importance of being cautious around strangers,” said Cpl. Stéphane Lemire of the Richibucto RCMP. “Community safety starts with awareness. If you witness any suspicious activity or similar incidents, please contact your local RCMP detachment or 911 immediately.”
Anyone who recognizes the description of the individual, who was in the area at the time of the incident, or who may have information that could help further the investigation, is asked to contact the Richibucto RCMP at 506-523-4611. The investigation is ongoing.
