Four youth and one adult have been arrested in connection with a firearm incident and subsequent flight from police in Riverview, N.B.
On November 11, 2025, at approximately 1:48 a.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a firearm incident at a residence on Rivercrest Avenue, in Riverview. A homeowner had come outside to find an unknown male inside of his vehicle in his driveway, and when the homeowner confronted the male, the male pointed a firearm at him and then fled in a dark SUV that was waiting nearby.
Several police officers were already in the area searching for a dark Mitsubishi Outlander and a dark Jeep Cherokee, both of which had been reported as stolen and were involved in several recent flight from police incidents and had been seen in the area that night.
A short time later, the Mitsubishi Outlander was located, and police attempted a traffic stop, however, the vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed. Due to concerns for public safety, police pursued the vehicle through Riverview and then towards Salisbury where the second vehicle, the Jeep Cherokee, was then spotted. Members of the Caledonia Region RCMP detachment attended to assist.
Police attempted to deploy a spike belt to stop the Jeep, but the jeep maneuvered around the spike belt, colliding with a police vehicle before entering a ditch where it got stuck. Two youth were arrested at the scene.
The Mitsubishi also got stuck in a field near Fredericton Road, and three youth along with a 21-year-old man were arrested at the scene.
The four youth were later released from custody on conditions and will appear in court at a later date. The 21-year-old man is set to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on November 14 for a bail hearing.
