A 52-year-old man from Paquetville, N.B., has been charged following a prohibited-weapon investigation in the community.
On July 27, 2025, members of the Caraquet RCMP received information that an individual was in possession of a prohibited weapon in the community. Police began an investigation.
On August 7, the Caraquet RCMP executed a search warrant at a property on St-Amateur Road in Paquetville as part of the investigation. During the search, police seized a prohibited weapon and a 52-year-old man from Paquetville was arrested at the scene without incident.
On August 8, 52-year-old Steve Duguay appeared in Bathurst Provincial Court and was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He was released from custody and is scheduled to return to court on January 23, 2026.
