A 79-year-old man from Galloway, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 near Kouchibouguac, N.B.
On December 11, 2025, at approximately 10:41 a.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 near Kouchibouguac, N.B.
The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) crossed the centre line and collided head-on with another SUV.
The driver of the first SUV, a 79-year-old man, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The passenger, a 76-year-old woman, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the second SUV, a 40-year-old woman, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A passenger, a youth, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger, also a youth, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Members of the Saint-Louis-de-Kent Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, Department of Justice and Public Safety, Town of Beaurivage bylaw’s office, New Brunswick Coroner’s office and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene.
An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man's exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
