Police seized a prohibited firearm, drugs and arrested a man in connection with a drug-trafficking investigation in Bass River, N.B.
On December 8, 2025, the Southeast Community Crime Reduction Unit, with the assistance from the RCMP's Police Dog Services, Richibucto RCMP and Elsipogtog RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence on Bass River Road in Bass River, N.B., in connection with the investigation.
As a result of the search, police seized a prohibited firearm, quantities of what are believed to be cocaine and oxycodone, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia.
During the operation, police arrested a 53-year-old man from Bass River. He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on April 3, 2026.
The public also plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs and firearms. Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact their local police. The investigation is ongoing.
