Man charged with drug trafficking following traffic stop

A 37-year-old man from Windsor, N.S., has been charged following a drug trafficking investigation in Elsipogtog First Nation, N.B.
On January 22, 2026, after receiving a report that a damaged and suspicious SUV was traveling in the community, members of the New Brunswick RCMP Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit, along with members of the Elsipogtog RCMP Detachment, intercepted the vehicle on Big Cove Road in Elsipogtog First Nation. During the traffic stop, members recognized one of the passengers as a 37-year-old man who was wanted on several warrants in Nova Scotia. The man was arrested and during the search incidental to his arrest, police seized a quantity of what they believed to be methamphetamine, as well as an electronic scale and drug paraphernalia.
On January 23, 2026, Justin Gregory Macleod, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine. He was remanded into custody pending his future court appearance.
