A 36-year-old man from Public Landing, N.B., has been arrested following a break, enter and theft in Maces Bay, N.B.
On January 23, 2026, at approximately 7: 45 p.m., members of the St. George RCMP responded to a report of a break, enter, and theft at a residence on County Line Road, in Maces Bay. One or more individuals forcefully gained entry by breaking the front door and stole items, including some jewelry.
Police began an investigation and were quickly made aware of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a religious establishment. Police attended the scene, and after a short altercation, arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with this investigation. Police were also able to recover some stolen items.
The 36-year-old man from Public Landing, N.B., was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in May 2026. A woman was also arrested at the scene but later released.
