A 31-year-old man from Fredericton, N.B., was sentenced in connection with an investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

The investigation, led by the New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation unit, began in July 2024, following information received from the RCMP's National Child Exploitation Crime Centre (NCECC).

On September 24, 2024, members of the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation unit, along with members of the Fredericton Police Force and the RCMP's Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant at a residence on Glenmar Drive, in Fredericton, N.B. As part of the investigation, a 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and police seized several electronic devices. The man was later released on strict condition pending a future court appearance.

On March 13, 2025, while this investigation was ongoing, the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation unit received information from the Oromocto RCMP about one of their investigations involving child exploitation toward a local child victim. Based on the review of this file by the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation unit, it was determined that it involve the same subject.

On March 15, 2025, a second warrant was executed by the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation unit and the Oromocto RCMP at a residence on Route 102 in Burton, N.B., where police seized several electronic devices. The subject was arrested again and remanded in custody.

On both February 10 and March 17, 2025, 31-year-old Brady Matthew Worden from Fredericton, N.B., appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court. As a result of these appearances, he was charged with:

-two counts of transmission of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
-two counts for failure to comply with a prohibition order
-possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
-luring a child believed to be under the age of sixteen, to commit an offence
-failure to comply with an undertaking

On November 10, 2025, Brady Matthew Worden appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court and plead guilty to all charges. He was remanded into custody and was scheduled to return to court at a later date.

On February 3, 2026, Brady Matthew Worden was sentenced to ten years in prison minus remand credit. Additionally, he will be required to provide a DNA sample, will be on the National Sex Offender Registry for life, and will be prohibited from possessing firearms for 10 years. Following his release from prison, he will have to abide by conditions set out by the court, including not communicating with anyone under the age of 16, and to not attend any place that someone under the age of 16 is known to be, for life.
