RCMP seeking public’s help following suspicious fire

The Lamèque RCMP is seeking the public's help in connection with a suspicious fire in Sainte-Cécile, N.B.

On February 21, 2026, at approximately 8:33 p.m., members of the Lamèque RCMP and the Lamèque Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on La Croix Road, in Sainte-Cécile, N.B. 

Through the investigation, the New Brunswick Office of the Fire Marshal determined that the fire had been intentionally set. No one was injured at the time of the incident.

An RCMP Remote Piloted Aircraft Operator attended the scene. Some fresh snowmobile tracks were discovered in the vicinity.

The investigation is ongoing.
