One individual charged and two arrested following a series of break, enter and theft

A woman from Saint John, N.B., has been charged, while two men from Saint John, N.B., have been arrested in connection with a series of break, enter and thefts in the Norton area. 

On July 24, 2026, at approximately 11:06 a.m., members of the Hampton RCMP received a report of suspicious persons looking through cars at a business on Route 124 in Norton. When police arrived, three individuals fled into a nearby wooded area. Police located multiple stolen items left behind by the individuals. 

Police initiated a police operation with the help from members of the Grand Bay-Westfield, Hampton and Sussex RCMP detachments, Police Dog Service (PDS), and remotely piloted aircraft systems (drone).

A short time later, the first individual, a 40-year-old woman from Saint John, N.B., was apprehended without incident. A 46-year-old man from Saint John, N.B., was located and arrested by PDS. The individual suffered minor injuries. The third individual, a 45-year-old man from Saint John, N.B., was located on Route 1 and safely arrested.  

On July 27, 2026, 40-year-old Caileigh Shea appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with two counts of break and enter and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime. She was later released on bail with conditions of house arrest.

The 45-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court on July 30, 2026, and the 46-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court on August 6, 2026.

Several stolen items have been recovered, and police are currently working on returning the items to their rightful owners.
