RCMP Federal Policing – Eastern Region has arrested a man in Rivière-du-Loup for posting hate speech on the social networks Telegram and X. According to an investigation by the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team, the individual allegedly posted hundreds of hateful messages in recent months, targeting Jewish communities and sexual minorities in particular. As some of the offences were allegedly committed when he was a minor, we cannot reveal his identity.

The man was arrested last February for similar offences and released on conditions. The investigation showed that despite his previous arrest, he continued his illegal activities online. He is now facing charges of wilful promotion of hatred and wilful promotion of antisemitism under the Criminal Code
