Terrorism charge laid against minor from Québec City area

Federal Policing, Eastern Region is announcing a charge laid against a Québec City-area teenager for a terrorism-related offence. According to an investigation by the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team, the individual allegedly used social media to promote the violent ideology of Atomwaffen Division, a terrorist entity. In particular, he is believed to have produced and distributed online material with the aim of inspiring and recruiting others.

The individual is facing the following charge under the Criminal Code:

  • Participation in activity of terrorist group;

He is scheduled to appear on February 6 at the Québec City courthouse.
