Saskatchewan youths arrested for uttering threats

On February 10, 2026, the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s (NWR) National Security in Saskatchewan, with support from the Saskatoon Police Service, began an investigation into a report of an online account sharing content associated to violent extremism.

As a result of this investigation, two 14-year-old youths were arrested on February 11, 2026.

Each youth has been charged with uttering threats contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. Both individuals were remanded into custody at the Saskatoon Youth Correctional Facility and are scheduled to appear at the Saskatoon Provincial Court on February 17, 2026.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act prevents any further release of information regarding these individuals. As the criminal investigation is ongoing and before the courts, the RCMP will not be making any further comments at this time.
