Three individuals charged in connection with cocaine importation and trafficking

RCMP Federal Policing Eastern Region announces that three individuals have been arrested and charged with cocaine importation and trafficking. A police operation carried out on July 3, in collaboration with the Canada Border Services Agency, resulted in the seizure of approximately 67 kg of cocaine from a Saint-Sauveur residence, as well as $115,000 in cash, firearm ammunitions and several cell phones, among other items. The three individuals arrested are:

  • Rodrigue Gionet, 72, from Allardville, New Brunswick
  • Sébastien Morel, 42, from Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
  • Evens Pierrelouis, 50, from Saint-Sauveur, Quebec

Mr. Gionet, Mr. Morel and Mr. Pierrelouis appeared at the St-Jérôme courthouse on Friday to face charges for importation and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. They remain in custody pending further proceedings. They are scheduled to appear again today for their bail hearing.

Two other people were also arrested, questioned and released on the day of the operation. They may face charges in the future. The investigation is ongoing.
