A 51-year-old man was arrested by Glovertown RCMP on Monday night after a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of contraband tobacco, cannabis and a large quantity of pills.
On September 8, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle travelling on Main Street in Glovertown observed a substance consistent with an illicit drug. The driver, a 51-year-old man was arrested, and a subsequent search of the car uncovered a quantity of contraband cigarettes, a quantity of cannabis above the legal limit, several bottles of prescription drugs and other items consistent with drug trafficking activities.
The driver is expected to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis in excess of the legal limit.
The investigation is ongoing.
