Twillingate RCMP investigating fatal crash near Purcell’s Harbour

Twillingate RCMP is investigating a single vehicle crash on Route 340 that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old driver on Thursday.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on March 19, officers from the Twillingate and Lewisporte detachments responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Route 340, near Purcell’s Harbour. Members of the Twillingate Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded to the crash. 

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador offers its condolences to the friends, family and community of the deceased.
