Clarenville RCMP arrested a 37-year-old man on Thursday evening after responding to a disturbance at a home in Arnold’s Cove. Joshua Williams, who was the subject of an active arrest warrant, now faces new criminal charges of resisting arrest and failure to comply with his release order.
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on March 19, 2026, Clarenville RCMP responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance on Kingwell Cresent in Arnold’s Cove. Officers attended the scene and located Joshua Harvey Williams, 37, who was identified by police as wanted on an outstanding unendorsed warrant for his arrest.
Officers attempted to arrest Williams and he refused to cooperate. Police located and seized a concealed knife during a search after his arrest, which was a violation of his court-ordered release conditions.
Williams has been charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer, failure to comply with a condition of a release order and fail to attend court in accordance with a release order.
He was held in custody and is expected to make his first appearance in Clarenville Provincial Court today (March 20).
The investigation is continuing.
