A 35-year-old man caught speeding by Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP overnight is now without his vehicle after the traffic stop revealed he was operating an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on March 20, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP officers patrolling Route 350 near Botwood stopped a vehicle observed speeding. The driver — a 35-year-old man from the area —was unable to provide valid insurance documents, and the vehicle’s registration had expired.

He was issued tickets under the Highway Traffic Act, and the vehicle was seized and impounded by police.

RCMP officers patrol roadways across Newfoundland and Labrador looking for impaired drivers, checking for seatbelts and ensuring vehicles and drivers are operating safely and with the appropriate documentation. Motorists are reminded to drive safe, drive sober and ensure that your licence, registration and insurance are always up to date.
