Bonavista RCMP investigating fatal single vehicle crash

Bonavista RCMP is investigating a single vehicle crash Thursday evening that resulted in the death of a 47-year-old driver.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on March 19, 2026, Bonavista RCMP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Elliston Road, near the Town of Bonavista. Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded to the crash.

The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old woman, was transported to the Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre for medical treatment and care. She was later moved to the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville where she succumbed to her injuries the following day.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was engaged and the investigation into the cause of the crash continues at this time.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador offers its condolences to the friends, family and community of the deceased.
