Holyrood RCMP arrested two people on Saturday, after a traffic stop on Route 10 in Trepassey resulted in the seizure of open alcohol.
Just after 9:00 p.m. on March 21, Holyrood RCMP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business. Officers observed open alcohol inside the vehicle and the driver, a 27-year-old man, and passenger, a 51-year-old woman, were arrested.
Police also learned that the driver’s licence was suspended. His vehicle was seized and impounded, and he was ticketed under both the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Control Act.
The passenger was released without charges.
The investigation continues, with further charges possible for the driver.
