Thirty-three-year-old Patrick Moulton was arrested by Burin Peninsula RCMP yesterday evening after resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and breaching court ordered conditions of release.
Just after 5:00 p.m. on March 24, Burin Peninsula RCMP attended a residence in Marystown to arrest Moulton, who was wanted on multiple outstanding charges of break and enter, resisting arrest, obstruction and fail to comply with his release order and had fled from police the day prior. He was located at the home and attempted to flee when police arrived.
Police detained Moulton, who assaulted one police officer during the altercation. No serious injuries were reported.
Patrick Moulton was returned to the Burin Peninsula RCMP detachment where he will be held until a court appearance, where he will answer to charges of:
- Resist or obstruct a police officer,
- Assault on a police officer,
- Failure to comply with conditions of release order.
