Clarenville RCMP is investigating the cause of a collision between two commercial vehicles on the Trans-Canada Highway Thursday morning, and are asking witnesses and anyone with dash camera footage to contact police.
Just before 9:00 a.m. on March 26, Clarenville RCMP responded to a collision along the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) near the weigh scales in Goobies. The collision involved a transport truck and a highway snowplow. Both commercial vehicles were eastbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
No injuries were reported to police.
Although the TCH remained open following the collision, eastbound traffic was slow moving through the area as crews worked to safely recover the transport truck, which had overturned on the side of the highway.
Clarenville RCMP are currently investigating the cause of the collision and are looking to speak to any possible witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage. If you witnessed this collision or have dash camera footage of the incident and you have not yet spoken to police, please contact Clarenville RCMP at 709-466-3211.
RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador encourages motorists to remain patient and stay well back of snowplows and all snow clearing crews. Passing a snow clearing vehicle in any direction can be dangerous for you, your passengers, other drivers and of course the operator of the plow. Snow clearing personnel always operate in the worst of worst weather and road conditions. So, please slow down, leave room and always drive with caution.
