Bay St. George RCMP arrests snoozing suspect in break and enter

Bay St. George RCMP arrested a 45-year-old man on Tuesday morning after responding to a report of a break and enter at a home in Stephenville. 

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on March 31, 2026, Bay St. George RCMP received a call reporting a break and enter, and the presence of an unknown male sleeping in a bed at a home on Gillis Drive. Police attended the scene and arrested the suspect.

The man was returned to the Bay St. George detachment and later released under conditions to appear in court to answer to charges of break and enter (residence).

The investigation is ongoing.
