Two Quebec men were arrested by the RCMP Labrador District General Investigation Section (GIS) on May 12, after a traffic stop on Route 500 resulted in the seizure of drugs, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.
On May 12, Labrador District GIS, with assistance from Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP and Labrador District Police Dog Services stopped a vehicle on Route 500 near Happy Valley-Goose Bay as part of an ongoing inter-provincial investigation.
Officers located and seized quantities of suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine and other items consistent with drug trafficking activity. Police also seized well over $100,000 in Canadian currency, which is believed to represent the wholesale price of an estimated three kilograms of cocaine.
Robert Miron, 62, and Jean Forest, 41, both from Quebec have each been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with trafficking in a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance, and under the Criminal Code with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime.
Both men are expected to appear in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Provincial Court next on July 2, 2026.
The investigation is continuing and further charges are possible.
