Officers and employees of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Newfoundland and Labrador will join our peers at the St. John’s Metro-area Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador tomorrow.

Runners will depart from Paradise Park at 10:00 a.m. and head down Topsail Road past the Mount Pearl city depot. The final leg of the race will take participants down Kenmount Road to the finish line at Capital Subaru in St. John’s.

Participants in tomorrow’s event have been collecting donations for Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador, to support sports and programs, competitions and awards for athletes and coaches across our province. This is one of several Law Enforcement Torch Runs that take place in our communities, to raise funds and awareness for this excellent cause.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador thanks all participants and donors for their generosity, and encourages motorists traveling along tomorrow’s route to plan ahead, and drive with caution.
