Bay St. George RCMP issued fines under the Highway Traffic Act and seized a vehicle after a hit and run collision Wednesday afternoon in Stephenville.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on June 25, Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a hit and run on Hillview Avenue in Stephenville. Police attended the scene and learned than a recreational vehicle (RV) had struck and damaged another vehicle and failed to remain at the scene. No injuries were reported to police.
The RV was located by officers a short time later. The investigation determined that the vehicle was also not registered or insured.
The driver involved in the hit and run was identified as a 25-year-old Barachois Brook woman. She was ticketed for failing to stop at the scene of an accident, operating a vehicle without insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle on a roadway. The RV was seized and impounded.
The investigation is continuing.
