Roddickton RCMP arrested a 29-year-old Alberta man in relation to an armed robbery on Major’s Street in Roddickton-Bide Arm during the early evening hours on Sunday.
Around 5:00 p.m. on June 28, Roddickton RCMP responded to a report of a robbery near a business on Major’s Street. A man, armed with a knife, threatened the victim and demanded cash. He fled the scene in a light-coloured SUV prior to police arrival.
An investigation at the scene identified a 29-year-old man from Alberta as the suspect. The incident is believed to be isolated in nature and not a random attack.
Officers began a search of the community and located the described vehicle nearby at the intersection of Major’s Street and Route 433. A traffic stop was conducted, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The man was later released from police custody on strict conditions imposed by police. He is expected appear in Provincial Court on October 5, 2026 on Criminal Code charges of:
- Robbery with weapon,
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
- Uttering threats against a person.
