Gander RCMP investigating off-road vehicle crash, asking witnesses to contact police

RCMP in Gander are investigating after an off-road vehicle crash sent one person to hospital early Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on July 1, Gander RCMP responded to a report of an off-road vehicle crash on Airport Boulevard. Officers arrived on the scene to find an all-terrain vehicle off the road and a seriously injured person nearby.
Emergency Medical Services personnel and firefighters with the Gander Fire Rescue attended the scene and provided treatment to the injured person. That individual was transported for continued medical treatment and care, and their injuries are considered serious and possibly life-threatening.
The off-road vehicle sustained extensive damages and was seized by investigators. Police are investigating reports the ATV had been stolen prior to the incident.
The investigation continues, and Gander RCMP is asking any witnesses, including anyone with phone, dash camera, or home surveillance footage related to this crash, to contact them at 709-256-6841.
