Clarenville RCMP is investigating a theft and misuse of a banking card, and asking for assistance identifying a suspect captured by surveillance cameras.

In March 2026, Clarenville RCMP received a report from a resident in the area who discovered multiple unauthorized transactions on their bank statement. The victim also reported that the card associated with the account was no longer in their possession.

Police are releasing surveillance photos of a suspect in this investigation, and are asking anyone with information about the identity of this man to contact Clarenville RCMP as soon as possible at 709-466-3211.

You can also share information anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), visiting nlcrimestoppers.com or using the P3Tips app.

Finding and keeping items that belong to someone else is theft. Found items can be turned into police in person at your closest detachment, or by calling a non-emergency police line. Using credit cards, cash or other forms of payment that do not belong to you is a crime. If you witness someone utilizing a payment method that is suspicious in nature, please report it to police.
