Bay St. George RCMP is investigating two attempted break and enters at businesses on Main Street in Stephenville last night. Police are appealing to the public for any information about these incidents or those responsible.

Shortly before 6:30 a.m. on July 15, police received a report of damage to the front door of the Hollow Noggin Vape Shop. Officers attended and found that the glass in the front door had been smashed in an apparent attempt to gain entry.

Surveillance footage showed two individuals attempting to break into the business at approximately 3:00 a.m. Although no cash was taken, a number of products were stolen, and damage was caused to the exterior of the building.

During the investigation, police learned of another attempted break and enter at a nearby business. Surveillance footage showed that shortly before 3:30 a.m., the same two individuals tried to gain access to Oceanic Cannabis and Coffee, located across the street.

Police found evidence of an attempted break and enter at this location. Although the suspects caused damage to the exterior of the building, they were unable to gain access to this business.

Both suspects appear to be male and were dressed in black. One suspect is taller and was wearing a half mask covering his nose and mouth. The second suspect is shorter and was wearing a clown mask covering his entire face, along with Puma-branded sweatpants.

Images from the surveillance footage are included.

Anyone with information about these crimes or video footage in the area between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, is being asked to contact Bay St. George RCMP at 709-643-2118.
