Trinity-Conception RCMP investigating morning collision on Veterans Memorial Highway

Trinity-Conception District RCMP is investigating a two-vehicle collision that resulted in the closure of Veterans Memorial Highway on Tuesday morning. 

On August 25 around 6:15 a.m., police in Bay Roberts received a report of a collision on the Veterans Memorial Highway (Route 75) between the North River and Bay Roberts exits. No serious injuries were reported to police at the scene, however, the collision did require the closure of the highway while RCMP, Emergency Medical Services personnel, Bay Roberts Fire Rescue and the Bay De Grave Regional Fire Department responded. 

Assistance was also provided at the scene by two off-duty paramedics, an off-duty volunteer firefighter and a civilian witness prior to the arrival of on-duty emergency responders. RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador extends its sincere thanks to this group for their support and commitment to public safety. 

The cause of the collision remains under investigation at this time.
