Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP arrested a 55-year-old woman Thursday evening after responding to a disturbance at a home in Old Shop.
Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on September 10, police received a call regarding two intoxicated individuals, yelling, screaming and damaging personal property inside a residence in Old Shop. Both people departed the house before police officers arrived on scene.
Officers searched the immediate area and located one of the individuals nearby. She was identified as Catherine Annette Thorne, 55, and determined to be in violation of a court-imposed condition to refrain from possessing or consuming alcohol in relation to previous matters.
Police attempted to arrest the Thorne, however, she refused to cooperate with officers’ demands before she was safely taken into custody.
She was held in police custody, to appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court today (Friday) for failing to comply with a release order and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
The investigation is ongoing.
