Whitbourne RCMP ticketed a woman and seized her vehicle on Sunday evening after a traffic stop revealed she did not have proper insurance.

On October 11 just before 5:00 p.m., officers patrolling the Trans-Canada Highway stopped a vehicle that had been reported as driving erratically in the area. The driver was unable to provide valid proof of insurance.

The 31-year-old St. Bernard’s woman was ticketed for operating a vehicle without insurance. The vehicle she was driving was seized roadside and impounded.

RCMP officers proactively patrol roadways across Newfoundland and Labrador looking for impaired drivers, checking for seatbelts and ensuring vehicles and drivers are operating safely and with the appropriate documentation. Motorists are reminded to drive safe, drive sober and ensure that your licence, registration and insurance are always up to date.
