Deer Lake RCMP and the RCMP Emergency Response Team arrested a 44-year-old man early Saturday morning after responding to a report that he was uttering threats, breaching his court-ordered conditions and attempting to intimidate a participant in an ongoing court proceeding. Conrad Crocker faces 12 Criminal Code charges, and is expected to make his next court appearance on November 3.

On Wednesday, October 21, Deer Lake RCMP began an investigation after receiving reports that Conrad Crocker, 44, was repeatedly making unwanted contact with an individual in person and by phone, in violation of his court-imposed conditions, and uttering threats of harm. Crocker and the victim were known to each other.

Around noon on Friday, October 23 a Deer Lake RCMP officer on patrol observed Crocker’s vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled and was later found on a residential street in Deer Lake, prompting a police advisory asking the public to avoid the surrounding area while police attempted to locate and arrest Crocker.

With the assistance of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the RCMP West District General Investigation Section, Deer Lake RCMP investigators were able to track Crocker to a residence in Corner Brook. Out of an abundance of caution, the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) was also deployed to the home, and Crocker was taken into custody without incident shortly before 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

He was held in custody and faces 12 Criminal Code charges including assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, criminal harassment, intimidation of a justice system participant and failure to comply with a condition of a release order.

Crocker remains in custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for November 3, 2026.

To protect the privacy of the victim and the integrity of the court proceedings, no additional details are being shared publicly at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges possible.
