Bonavista RCMP seized vehicles from three disqualified drivers during separate proactive traffic stops over the weekend.
On Friday, October 30, shortly before 11:00 p.m, officers stopped a driver on Sebastian Drive in Bonavista and confirmed that the 36-year-old man was operating with a suspended licence.
The following evening around 8:45 p.m., police were conducting patrols on Route 230 near Little Catalina, when they stopped another vehicle being operated by a 28-year-old woman whose licence had previously been suspended.
The third driver was stopped on November 1 around 5:00 p.m., as the 34-year-old woman was known by officers to have a suspended licence.
All three drivers were issued tickets for driving while disqualified or licence suspended. The vehicles they were driving were seized roadside and impounded.
Every day, RCMP officers patrol roadways across Newfoundland and Labrador looking for impaired drivers, checking for seatbelts and ensuring vehicles and drivers are operating safely and with the appropriate documentation. Motorists are reminded to slow down, drive sober and ensure that your licence, registration and insurance are always up to date.
