Commanding Officer of the Nova Scotia RCMP

Dan Morrow
Assistant Commissioner

Assistant Commissioner Dan Morrow brings over 33 years of distinguished service with the RCMP, starting his career in 1992 in his home province of Manitoba. He has held positions in contract policing, traffic services and federal policing, and has served more than two decades in senior leadership roles.

Assistant Commissioner Morrow has been part of the Nova Scotia RCMP since 2007, serving in various capacities and communities across the province, most recently as Criminal Operations Officer. In this role, he provided executive oversight of all operational policing and specialized units across the province, supporting more than 50 detachments and a wide range of critical policing services.

Prior to this role, Assistant Commissioner Morrow served as District Policing Officer for Southwest Nova District RCMP and District Commander for Kings District RCMP, where he provided leadership and oversight of policing operations, personnel and community partnerships across different regions.

He has over 14 years of progressively responsible command in Indigenous community policing environments, where he built lasting, trust-based relationships with Indigenous leaders and communities.

"I believe in fostering relationships and partnerships through conversations, sharing perspectives and mutual respect. I’m also very focused on employee wellness and resourcing, recognizing that the people serving across Nova Scotia are our greatest strength.

As Commanding Officer, my role is to ensure we, as the provincial police and in working with others, are serving and supporting residents to live safely in the communities they love, amid increasingly complex social and economic environments."
