RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment charges man with drug trafficking

The RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment (HRD) Community Action Response Team (CART) has charged a man with drug trafficking.

On October 9, RCMP HRD CART arrested three men and executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking to people who are unhoused in Lower Sackville.

The three men were arrested in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Bedford Hwy. and the search took place at a residence on Polara Dr. in Lower Sackville. During the search, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, hydromorphone pills, cash, copper wire, stripped copper, and two vehicles.

Frank George Duffy, 58, of Lower Sackville, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Duffy remains in custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 17.

A 51-year-old man of Dartmouth, and a 41-man of Halifax were released pending appearances in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing, led by RCMP HRD CART.

Steve Pollock, East Operations NCO, RCMP HRD.
