Meteghan RCMP Detachment has charged a man after investigating a hit-and-run that occurred in January 2024.

On January 27, 2024, at approximately 3:17 p.m., RCMP officers, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of collision involving an ATV and a pickup truck on Patrice Rd. in Church Point.

Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers learned that a Can-Am Outlander was travelling on the road when it was struck by a GMC Sierra. Following the collision, the Sierra fled the scene.

The rider of the ATV, a 49-year-old Church Point man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

On November 12, 21-year-old Zachary David Comeau of Meteghan Station was arrested. He’s due to appear in Digby Provincial Court at a later date to face a charge of Failure to Stop After an Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm.
