On January 29, at approximately 5:45 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment (HRD), including members of its Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Community Action Response Team, responded to a report of a shooting in a parking lot in the 700 block of Hwy. 7 in Westphal.

The BMW was then found abandoned in the 900 block of North Preston Rd. and was seized. The Buick was also seized as part of the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section, with support from RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
