Kings District RCMP has charged a man with multiple sexual offences as part of an investigation into recent and historical sexual assaults. Investigators believe there may be other victims.

In April, Kings District RCMP received a report of a sexual assault involving a child victim and an adult man and began an investigation.

As the investigation continued, several other people disclosed to officers that they had also been assaulted by the same man. The victims were known to the man. The offences took place between the 1970s and the present. Though some victims are now adults, all were children or youth when the assaults occurred.

On April 7, Terry Hill Sr., 71, of Cambridge, was arrested and charged with 14 offences including Sexual Assault (4 counts), Sexual Interference (4 counts), and Uttering Threats (2 counts). He had a first court appearance on April 10 at Kentville Provincial Court. He was released on conditions pending future court appearances.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Supports are available, including through RCMP Victim Services.

There is no time limit on reporting sexual offences to police. Nova Scotia RCMP recognizes the lasting impact that these offences can have on victims, including feelings of stress, shame, and fear, even if a significant number of years have passed. RCMP investigators are committed to seeking justice regardless of how much time has passed.

The investigation is continuing. Any victims who want to speak to police or anyone with information is asked to contact Kings District RCMP at 902-275-3583 or their local police. To remain anonymous call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips app.
