Colchester County District RCMP is investigating a break and enter that resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage to a business, requiring the business to close temporarily for repairs.

On April 14 at approximately 6:20 a.m., Colchester County District RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter that occurred overnight at a manufacturing business on Park St., Bible Hill. Officers attended and found significant damage to multiple buildings. The damage included smashed windows, destroyed fixtures, and damage to tools and equipment inside. Officers also learned that a truck, a Dodge Ram, was stolen from the property.

Investigators identified two youths associated to the theft and damage and learned that they and the stolen truck were in Halifax. Halifax Regional Police safely arrested the two youths and recovered the truck in downtown Halifax later in the day on April 14.

The youths, who are under the legal driving age, will face charges related to property crime offences. They were released on conditions pending future court appearances.

Colchester County District RCMP appreciates support from Halifax Regional Police that led to the youths being safely located and arrested.
