Barrington RCMP has charged a Shelburne County man with multiple offences, including Theft of Mail, after responding to a mischief complaint involving damaged mailboxes.
On April 23, 2026, at approximately 2:09 p.m., Barrington RCMP responded to a report of damaged mailboxes at a property on Old Loop Rd. in Baccaro. Officers learned that multiple mailboxes had been pried open and mail had been stolen, resulting in several thousand dollars in property damage.
Through the investigation, Barrington RCMP identified the suspect as Carmen Shaw, 28, of Barrington. On April 23. 2026, Shaw was safely arrested.
Shaw has been charged with:
- Theft of Mail
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Breach of Probation (two counts)
Shaw was also charged with Taking Motor Vehicle Without Consent in relation to a complaint received on April 23.
He appeared in Barrington Provincial Court on April 24, 2026, and was released on conditions pending future court appearances.
