The Southwest Nova Street Crime Enforcement Unit has seized firearms, illegal cannabis, and proceeds of crime following the execution of multiple search warrants in Kings County.

On April 26, RCMP officers executed six search warrants at three residences, an illegal cannabis storefront, a storage location, and a distribution site connected to the online sale of illegal cannabis operating in the area.

The searches resulted in the seizure of:

  • Ten long guns
  • Approximately 9.6 kilograms of illegal dried cannabis, 300 grams of hash, and more than 1,500 packages of THC gummies and chocolates
  • Approximately 2,000 grams of psylocibin
  • 253 cartons of unstamped tobacco
  • More than $160,000 in cash (approximately $130,000 was seized from one residence)

The retail value of the products seized is estimated at over $600,000.

Officers also seized cell phones and other electronic devices, along with three vehicles, two 40‑foot sea containers, and one enclosed cargo trailer as proceeds of crime.

RCMP intelligence indicates the locations searched are supplied by organized crime groups.

The investigation is ongoing and arrests and charges are anticipated.

The Northeast Nova Street Crime Enforcement Unit, the Nova Scotia Organized Crime Unit, Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia, and the Forensic Accounting Management Group are assisting with the investigation.

The Nova Scotia RCMP reminds residents that products from illegal cannabis storefronts are unregulated and may pose health risks. The RCMP continues to enforce cannabis laws with a focus on public safety. Anyone with information about illegal drug activity is encouraged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers.
