Police continue to investigate the homicide of Jerell Aaron Wright.

On May 13, 2009, at approximately 10:45 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at 16 Clarence St. in North Preston.  Jerell Aaron Wright was standing in a shared driveway when shots were fired from a passing moving vehicle, striking him.  He was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators believe Wright was not alone in the driveway at the time of the shooting and was not the intended target.

Despite ongoing investigative efforts, the homicide remains unsolved.

“We believe there are people in the community who know what happened,” says S/Sgt. Tanya Chambers-Spriggs, RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division - Major Crime Unit.  “Now is the time to come forward – your information, no matter how minor it may seem, could be key.”

Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division Major Crime Unit at 902-490-5020 and/or the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090.  To remain anonymous, contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips app.
