Assistant Commissioner Dan Morrow is now leading the Nova Scotia RCMP as its Commanding Officer.
Assistant Commissioner Morrow has dedicated much of his career to serving Nova Scotians. He has been part of the Nova Scotia RCMP since 2007, serving in various capacities and communities across the province, most recently as Criminal Operations Officer.
“I pride myself on learning from the people I work with and the communities I serve, and I’m approaching this role with the same commitment – to listen, learn, and contribute to the strength of our division and the safety of our province,” says Assistant Commissioner Morrow.
Assistant Commissioner Morrow joined the RCMP in 1992, starting his career in his home province of Manitoba. He has held positions in contract policing, traffic services and federal policing.
Assistant Commissioner Morrow has worked in urban, rural and fly-in locations, and spent nearly two decades serving in First Nation communities. He has participated in numerous local, provincial, and national committees that focused on the development of equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation strategies within the RCMP.
“I believe in fostering relationships and partnerships through conversations, sharing perspectives and mutual respect. I’m also very focused on employee wellness and resourcing, recognizing that the people serving across Nova Scotia are our greatest strength,” says Assistant Commissioner Morrow. “As Commanding Officer, my role is to ensure we, as the provincial police and in working with others, are serving and supporting residents to live safely in the communities they love, amid increasingly complex social and economic environments.”
Assistant Commissioner Morrow took over from Assistant Commissioner Dennis Daley who retired in March after serving as the Commanding Officer of the Nova Scotia RCMP since October 2022.
