RCMP charge Meteghan River man with drug trafficking and other offences

The Meteghan RCMP Detachment has charged a Digby County man with drug trafficking and other offences following the execution of a search warrant.
On May 29, Meteghan RCMP, along with RCMP Police Dog Services and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and the Department of Natural Resources, executed a search warrant at a property in the 600 block of Dentremont Rd. as part of an ongoing investigation.
Officers seized a quantity of cocaine, a scale, score sheets, cell phones, several cartons of unstamped cigarettes, cash, a flare gun made to look like a handgun, live elvers, elver fishing and storage equipment, and a stun gun.
Todd Scott Schnare, 45, of Meteghan River, has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Diazepam)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marijuana)
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Schnare also faces additional charges under the Excise Act and the Criminal Code related to unstamped tobacco.
Schnare was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Digby Provincial Court on August 10.
The investigation is ongoing.
