Update: Major Crime Unit investigation continues as suspicious death in Kings County confirmed to be homicide

The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit (SWN MCU) is continuing to investigate as a suspicious death in Greenfield has been confirmed to be a homicide. 

On June 11 at approximately 3:50 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man located outside a residence on Peck Meadow Rd. The man’s death was believed to be suspicious and the SWN MCU took carriage of the investigation.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has determined the manner of death to be homicide. 

Officers arrested one person on June 11 in relation to the incident. They were later released without charges.

The information and evidence collected to date indicates the incident was targeted. The investigation is ongoing. 

Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time.
