RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a man for impaired driving following a single-vehicle crash in Hubbards.

On June 21, at approximately 2:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a truck in the ditch on Fox Point Rd. Upon arrival, officers located a Ford F-150 with an attached boat and trailer off the roadway and a man climbing out of the vehicle.

Officers observed signs of impairment and arrested the driver, a 46-year-old man from Lower Sackville, for impaired driving.  He was transported to the Tantallon RCMP Detachment, where he provided two breath samples of 200 mg%.

The man was released and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

Driving while impaired poses a serious risk on our roads. With summer activities underway, motorists are urged to plan ahead and arrange a safe ride home if consuming alcohol or drugs. Suspected impaired drivers should be reported to police by calling 911.
