Barrington RCMP Detachment is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Hwy. 103 in Barrington.

On June 26, at approximately 6:45 a.m., RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision between exits 29 and 30.

Officers learned that a Hyundai Elantra crossed the centreline and collided with a tractor trailer.

The driver and only occupant of the car, a 37-year-old man of Shelburne, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and only occupant of the tractor trailer, a 50 year-old man of Shelburne County, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing with support from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

Hwy. 103 remains closed between exits 29 and 30 to support the investigation.

Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the deceased man at this difficult time.
