As a result of ongoing investigative efforts, officers no longer believe there’s a risk to public safety. The Alert for #Chelsea has been cancelled. Investigators remain in the area as they continue the investigation. Residents may resume normal activities. Thank you for your support.
A cancellation has been issued to residents in Lunenburg County and Queens County:

RCMP officers are in #Chelsea continuing the investigation into the man with a weapon. At this time, the Alert instructions remain for Lunenburg County and Queens County.

Alerts have been issued to residents in Lunenburg County and Queens County:
RCMP ALERT: DANGEROUS MAN with weapon.
Hwy. 210 and Old Chelsea Rd., Chelsea, Nova Scotia.
SUSPECT: Man, 30s, 6-foot, dark hair with beard, brown bandana and pants, grey shirt and black satchel bag.
FIND SAFE LOCATION NOW. LOCK DOORS. DO NOT APPROACH. DO NOT PICK UP HITCHHIKERS.

PUBLIC ADVISORY: Lunenburg District RCMP is in the area of Hwy. 210 and Old Chelsea Rd., Chelsea, related to a call of a suspicious person potentially in possession of a weapon. The public can expect to see an increased police presence as officers investigate.
Out of an abundance of caution, please do not pick up hitchhikers in this area.
